The Water Storage and Hydropower Development for Africa Conference (AFRICA 2023) is taking place from July 10th to 12th at the Speke Resort Munyonyo Conference Centre in Uganda’s Lake Victoria.

Supported by the International Energy Agency (IEA) and the World Bank and the African Development Bank, the conference brings together experts from all over the world to focus on water storage and hydropower development solutions that work for Africa’s diverse countries and communities. 

The conference brings together high-level representatives of ministries, utilities, private development groups, consulting practices, international and regional development banks, experts, contractors, and equipment suppliers. The objective is to focus on water storage and hydropower development solutions that would work for Africa’s diverse countries and communities.

The fourth conference and exhibition in this series, AFRICA 2023 focuses on cross-border collaboration for transboundary schemes, challenging sites, climate resilience and capacity-building and training. Topics covered during the conference also include project identification and planning, progress through to financing, design, environmental protection, social aspects, construction, operation, maintenance and refurbishment.

Specialists and experts from Dar and its sister company Su-Yapı are at the conference to present our joint pioneering services in dams and hydropower solutions.  Across the Middle East, Asia, Europe, and Africa, Dar and Su-Yapı have more than 45 years of experience in planning, designing, engineering, and supervising the construction of intricate dams and hydropower projects that are essential for triggering sustainable social growth and creating more resilient communities.
