The Dar Al-Handasah Smart Village Offices building has recently earned a Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council. One of the most acclaimed awards in green building, LEED certification is given to sustainable buildings that are both energy-efficient and healthy for their occupants.

Conceived by Perkins+Will, the six-story headquarters embodies Dar’s inventiveness and forward-thinking spirit with its vibrant design scheme and innumerable facilities.

Distinguished by its vertical shading system and atrium, the 41,800-m2 building also has an executive area that meets the Zero Carbon Standard. Dar’s design has reduced the whole project’s energy consumption by about 26%.

Dar’s Smart Village Offices earned the certification after accumulating 62 points on the New Construction Rating System. It is the workplace of about 2,000 staff members.

As Dar earns another LEED certification, one of its main assets remains its goal-oriented, determined and hardworking team that embodies the Dar spirit.
