Dar’s participation in the West and Central Africa Forum (WCAF V)  provided an important opportunity to engage with regional stakeholders, strengthen project partnerships and contribute to discussions on West Africa’s development priorities.

At the event, Dar presented its portfolio to participants at its booth, creating opportunities for further engagement across the region. Laye Sékou Camara, Minister of Energy of Guinea, expressed his appreciation for Dar’s portfolio and welcomed the company to explore opportunities to contribute to upcoming projects in Guinea. Dr. Mabouba Diagne, former Senegalese Minister of Agriculture, finance expert and former Vice President of the ECOWAS Bank for Investment and Development (EBID), also expressed his appreciation for Dar’s ongoing project with Pavifort in Sierra Leone.

Dar was also represented during the Senegal session, where Ali Tabaja, Director of Operations for West Africa, spoke alongside senior Senegalese government representatives. The discussion explored Senegal’s growth potential and the role of the energy sector and industry in supporting the country’s development. It also highlighted Dar’s contribution to the feasibility study and master plan for Senegal’s Energy City, alongside RGS’s launch of an Expression of Interest (EOI) for the gas pipeline, marking progress in the development of the country’s energy sector.

Two significant agreements were also signed during the event, marking important steps forward in Dar’s work in The Gambia and Sierra Leone. In The Gambia, an MOU was signed with Riverside for the NIOMY City project. In Sierra Leone, Dar signed a contract with Pavifort for the corridor and master plan of the New Capital City. These agreements represent further progress in Dar’s work across the region.

Dar also received the Market Shaper Award in recognition of its role in shaping markets and supporting development opportunities across the region.

The event provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships with regional stakeholders, build on project partnerships and exchange perspectives on West Africa’s development priorities, highlighting the importance of collaboration in supporting the region’s growth.
