The East Port Said Expansion project has attained 20 million safe man-hours without a Lost Time Injury (LTI), reflecting the project team’s continued commitment to health, safety, and operational excellence across one of the region’s most significant maritime developments.

The milestone was commemorated during a ceremony held on Monday, 27 April 2026, attended by distinguished representatives from the Ministry of Labour and the Port Said Labour Department, including the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labour, the Director of the Port Said Labour Department, and the Director of the Port Said Safety Office. Representing Dar at the event were Hatem El Gamal, Principal – Head of Project Management & Construction Supervision; Mohamed Bader, Area HSE Manager; Yasser Abdlemageed, Project Manager; and members of Dar’s Construction Supervision team.

Located at the northern entrance of the Suez Canal, East Port Said Port serves as a vital gateway for global trade and international shipping routes. The ongoing expansion of the Suez Canal Container Terminal (SCCT) further reinforces the port’s growing role as a regional and international logistics hub.

Dar is providing project management and construction supervision services for the expansion of the container terminal at SCCT. The project will add 2.1 million twenty-foot equivalent units (TEU) of capacity, increasing the terminal’s total installed capacity to 6.6 million TEU. The scope of works includes extending the berth by 955 metres, developing a yard extending 500 metres in depth across a total area of 48 hectares, and implementing an advanced automatic integration system.

The achievement indicates the disciplined coordination and sustained commitment demonstrated across all project teams as work progresses on one of the region’s most significant maritime infrastructure developments.
