On Guinea’s National Day, Dar extends its warm wishes to the people of Guinea, celebrating the country’s history, the strength of its communities, and its aspirations for the future. As Guinea prepares to welcome regional and international leaders to Conakry, Dar will participate in the fifth UK–Francophone West & Central Africa Trade & Investment Forum (WCAF V). As part of Dar’s participation, Ali Tabaja, Dar’s Director of Area Operations for West Africa, will participate as a speaker at WCAF V.
The forum will bring together government and industry leaders, investors, and other stakeholders to explore the partnerships, trade, and investment opportunities shaping Francophone West and Central Africa. Under the theme “From Co-operation to Transformation: Building the Future of Development in Africa,” discussions will focus on collaboration and sustainable growth across the region.
Dar’s participation in WCAF V draws on more than five decades of work across Africa. From urban planning and transportation to water infrastructure, energy, healthcare, and education, that work has been shaped by long-term partnerships, local capacity-building, and an understanding of the contexts in which projects take place. Those same principles inform the conversations Dar seeks to join in Conakry: not only what the region’s development priorities are, but how people and organisations can work together to advance them.
In December 2024, Dar hosted WCAF III at its London offices, where the forum focused on UK–Francophone West and Central African trade and investment. In February 2026, Sidara hosted the Senegal London Energy & Investment Forum at 150 Holborn, where participants discussed energy and investment opportunities.
Later in 2026, Dar joined the UK Pavilion at PROMOTE, sponsored the Energy & Water Infrastructure Conference and showcased digital twins for the Kwanza hydroelectric cascade alongside sister Sidara company Wood, co-hosted the West Africa Coastal Growth Corridor Mini-Summit with Sidara, and joined Wood at the PND Consultative Group for government and investor discussions on a national development plan.
Each forum has offered a different setting in which to connect development priorities with the partnerships and investment needed to pursue them. At WCAF V in Conakry, Dar looks forward to exchanging perspectives with regional and international stakeholders, strengthening connections, and contributing to dialogue on sustainable development across West and Central Africa.
