On June 6, 2024, Dar was honoured with the Best Consultant Award in the Special Recognition category of the 13^th Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport (DAST), in an event organised by Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority. The award spotlights Dar’s success in crafting sustainable transport solutions and transportation infrastructure, in ventures that aimed to support the Roads and Transport Authority in delivering its vision for sustainable, accessible mobility.

Since its launch in 2008, and under the patronage of the Dubai Crown Prince and Chairman of the Executive Council his Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the Dubai Award for Sustainable Transport has become a leading showcase for environmental sustainability. This award aims to inspire individuals and community organisations to support the RTA’s efforts to improve infrastructure and public transport. DAST highlights the importance of sustainable transport, promoting public awareness and a sense of responsibility. It also encourages the development of successful initiatives in the field of transport, safety and environment amongst the corporate sector and individuals.

This year, DAST received 170 submissions across three main categories: initiatives, research and development, and special recognition. His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum – the Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai – accompanied by His Excellency Mattar Al Tayer the Director General and the Chairman of the Board of Executive Directors of the RTA honoured the winners, including Dar which received the Best Consultant Award in recognition of the firm’s ongoing efforts to promote sustainable practices.

Dubai’s government prioritises the enhancement of public transport facilities and the improvement of road infrastructure to make travel safer. Established in 2005, the RTA leads planning and providing transport, roads, and traffic requirements within Dubai while also connecting Dubai with other neighbouring Emirates. Dar has previously collaborated with the RTA on delivering projects that reflect their vision of sustainable mobility. Throughout the years Dar has maintained exemplary environmentally friendly practices in engineering consultancy, promoting sustainability in RTA projects, in addition to supporting sustainability-related activities and initiatives.
