In a strategic and ground-breaking award, Dar has entered a five-year contract to provide Kuwait’s Ministry of Electricity, Water, and Renewable Energy (MEW) with in-house consultant engineering services for water sector projects.

The ground-breaking agreement, which establishes Dar as the water consultant for the State of Kuwait, is reminiscent of the historic Kuwait Power Plant "C" project in 1957 with MEW, which marked a pivotal moment in Dar’s history as the Firm’s first major undertaking.

The contract encompasses three major categories of comprehensive engineering and management services. Under one category, Dar will provide study, design, and tender – and potentially, construction supervision – services for eight major water infrastructure projects, encompassing nationwide water supply studies, city-scale water networks, pumping stations, water distribution complexes, water towers and networks, and design manuals and standards for MEW’s water engineering sector. Moreover, Dar will provide monthly services by seconding skilled professionals to MEW for specific activities, and the company will offer ad-hoc support for various tasks, as agreed on with MEW.

Established and operating in Kuwait since 1957, Dar has supported the planning and development of transformational projects across the country. From the Kuwait Master Plan 2040 to the Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah Causeway, our company has successfully undertaken more than 135 projects in Kuwait across sectors such as water and sanitation, transportation, airports, district and town developments, buildings, and more.

This new momentous endeavour not only showcases our expertise and unwavering commitment to excellence but also underlines our dedication to making a positive impact on society and the environment. Through this strategic partnership with MEW, we look forward to shaping a brighter and more sustainable future for the people of Kuwait.
