The Green Belt is a strategic urban/landscape project designed to enliven the existing Residential City master plan with a complete offer of pedestrianised streets, landscape areas, sports, recreational amenity and a unique retail offer. DWC’s stated aim for the project is to become ‘the best open space destination in Dubai’ and a top-notch children’s facility for both Residential City residents and the public alike.

The approach to the landscape was to create four green intensity zones, Major intensive, Minor intensive, Major extensive and Minor extensive and the design and planting approach respected this for each of the character areas.

The design of the landscape supported the vision of creating an active leisure facility by providing fitness and exercise trails connecting the various open spaces.
